Tylan James is Here too!!

Julie and Jeff had Tylan James on Friday, June 12th at 7:45pm. He weighed 7lbs. 1oz. and was 20" long, lucky girl!! We haven't been able to see him yet, but here are some pictures of him too! Jeff is heading back to Wisconsin today and will be deployed soon to Afghanistan. My mom is spending time with Julie until she and Tylan can come here for a long visit, then the cousins can get acquainted!!

Tylan is battling with jaundice quite a bit and has a blanket with a light in it for treating jaundice, at home that he has to be in 24/7, except diaper changes. This is in liu of sending him back to the hospital. So please keep him in your prayers too that he will be over that soon and can come to visit!! Aunt Shelley and Uncle Dan want to meet him!!!

She is Here!!

Here are some pictures of baby Kacie Lyn. She was born Saturday, June 13th at 11:52pm. She was 8lbs 4.9oz. and was 21.5" long!!! She was a big girl.

The delivery went fairly well. Harder than I had ever imagined, went much better after the epidural, highly recommend the epidural. We made it to 6 cm, but couldn't go any further without some meds. We were in labor from about 4:30 -12:00, so not too long. It was time, we were 4 days past our due date and the anticipation was killing us! God's timing is perfect however!! He has blessed us with such a wonderful joy and beautiful, perfect baby girl!
We had gone to the hospital on Thursday morning because she wasn't moving much and I was getting worried. Everything was fine and they said that I was probably in early labor and that I'd be back in 4-48 hours, so we had lunch, shopped and hung out for a while that after noon to see if things changed. Everything was the same that afternoon, so home we went and waited two more days.

Thank you all sooooo much for your prayers and support, we could not have done it without you and without the grace of God. What an amazing experience and one we will never forget. Of course it has brought Dan and I closer and we both just cherish the new little one in our family!!!

God Bless you all!!

12th Doctor's Visit - Due Date!!!

Well, no baby yet. Dr. said all looks good and she thinks I'll go into labor before next week. I was hoping for the Full Moon, but that didn't seem to make a bit of difference. So I guess we have to stay ready for any day. Julie said maybe she'll come right on her due date and be on time just like her daddy always is. I think she was implying that I am late some times...maybe she'll make an entrance tomorrow, fashionably late :). That would be my girl! Her heart beat sounds good and her movement is good and she is pointed in the right direction, so all should be fairly smooth. The Dr. doesn't foresee any complications so the rest is in the Lords hands and he is in control and his timing is perfect. Thanks for your prayers they keep us calm and at peace. We are getting excited more than anything. It is like Christmas Day, we just don't know when that day is. So the suspense continues to build. God Bless you all and we'll be in touch soon!

Oh, and today is our DUE DATE!!!!! So is today the day???

11th Doctor's Appointment

Everything went well last night at our 11th appointment. We set up our last appointment for next Monday, hopefully we won't be needing it, but just in case she decides to come late. I think she is tight on space now and maybe that will encourage her to come earlier than planned. We are just excited to meet her and Dan is most excited to see who she looks like, I should remind him that most new borns look like shriveled up old people and slowly they take shape. We did have it confirmed again yesterday that Kacie is still a girl, so now we wait and see. The Dr. confirms it for Dan every time now because he was so concerned that we had all this pink and nothing for a boy. Her heart rate was good, my blood pressure is low as normal and my weight was right on. So everything is going well. The Dr. said it could be any time or take as long as two weeks, she just preferred not last night, so we didn't' have her last night. The Dr. had delivered 3 babies with in the last 24 hrs and was a little tiered. Granny Gwen has her bets on today. We will see if she is right!! Maybe I should take a long walk at lunch!!

God Bless you all and we'll stay in touch!!

39 weeks today!!!!

Baby Hughes construction project is still under way. We were hoping we would get her completed early, but as of yet, no such luck. Looks like we'll be right on time. We have an appointment today, so we'll fill everyone in on what the Doc says. Here is a recent belly shot. I am feeling great, just tiered, but sleeping okay between bathroom breaks and when I can breath threw my nose. I am so stuffy, uhhhhggg. Dan is currently in the guest room so he can get some sleep and hopefully all that stuff will go away once the baby is here, then it will just be up with her every couple of hours or so. That is much better than up to go to the bathroom or because I am snoring too load. We are so excited to see who she looks like and can't wait to show her off.

One week from today, we'll see. We will keep everyone posted as best we can, check the blog or face book or your email! Much love, Shelley, Dan, and baby Kacie :)!!!

Bluff Springs hike

Dan, Tucker and I went on a hike at Bluff Springs this weekend after a nap. We are trying everything, bumpy roads, long hikes, plenty of rest, mexican food, I guess it is time for Julie's chilies. On second thought I might wait till we are one week late, they are pretty hot and pretty much hurt to eat.

Memorial Day weekend

We had two of our very great friends down for Memorial Day weekend. We got to spend Sunday and some of Monday together. They brought their two boxers, Peaches and Enzo down to play with Tucker. They seemed to all get along pretty well. They are a little over a year and Tucker is almost 4, but if any of you have ever met Tucker you know he is full of energy!!! He really does settle down at home for us, but not when we have company or other doggie friends around. We are so glad they came to spend time with us. We are trying to pass time by the best we can right now as we wait for baby's arrival. Hope you all had a great Memorial weekend. Thank you to our armed services for their service and duty for our country, that we might be free!!!
