Baby Names

I guess I hadn't really let everyone know what our little girls name is going to be.
It will be:
Kacie Lyn Hughes

Kacie - Dan has always loved this name for a girl
Lyn - is her grandpa Hughes name and her uncle David's middle name

We choose "Kacie" and not "Kacey" because Kacie means vigilant and Kacey means thorny tree, so we decided to go with vigilant, who makes up what names mean anyway????

Julie and Jeff have picked a name for their Boy, oh, yes, they are having a BOY for those that didn't know!!!!! Now we'll have one of each and we each only have to have one at a time. :)

His name is going to be:
Tylan James Bragg

Tylan - Julie and Jeff just liked the name
James - his grandpa Maynard's name

Kacie's Nursery

It is coming along slowly, but surely. Dan and I played in there the other day just piddling really, putting things away, ironing the curtain, putting together the floor lamp. As you can see we don't have the bedding yet. I think I'll order it this weekend. I sure hope she is a girl and that she doesn't come out a boy, or his favorite color might be pink for a little while. We have already gotten so many wonderful gifts for her, thank you to everyone, so very much, what a wonderful blessing!!! I guess we'll have to relocate the architecture models, they might inspire her to be an architect or a contractor, but they aren't very durable, they weren't built for play. I am going to get a pink satin ribbon for the window panel, but all I had right now was blue so...We have let Tucker in her room a few times just to look around and sniff things, I think he knows something is coming, just not sure what. I hope he'll like being a big brother. I have been using the nursery organization and play time as a reward for studying for my ARE's. I have 4 of these to go, next one is Mechanical / Electrical on March 13th, then 3 more. I don't quite yet feel any relief seeing how you don't get results back until 4-6 weeks later. Oh, well...Something fun for me to look forward to this weekend, studying all day Saturday and Sunday, but that means it is one weekend closer to the finish. Dan will get to play at least. Have a great weekend everyone!!!

Flying Expedition

Dan and I went to Alamo to fly his remote control plane. He has gotten really good at flying it and loves to go. I hadn't ever seen him fly it, so it was fun to watch and a little scary. The last time he flew it he had a minor crash, but was able to repair it then. I guess something came loose mid flight this time and well, the pictures tell the rest. I guess we are starting over with the body of the plane. At least we were able to keep the engine, and all the elec. parts. We took Tucker and met our friends Christa, Steven, Brooke and Little Steven for the afternoon. It was a beautiful day in the desert, a little warmer than in the mountains.

Belly Shots 25 weeks

Here are some pictures we took the other day after church. I am 25 weeks today, so we are still growing, mainly out in front.

Mardi Gras in the Clouds

Dan and I celebrated our 2nd Mardi Gras in the Clouds this weekend. Dan built the float and we all rode in the parade on Sat. I think he did a splendid job on it!!! So enjoy the fun pictures of everyone and the preparation. You all are invited to come join in the fun any time. I think this was the 8th annual Mardi Gras celebration in the Clouds. I think there were a couple thousand people on the streets for the parade, I wasn't quite ready for that. My mom and dad entered the tasting contest with a wonderful shrimp recipe and got 1st place - people's choice award, we are very proud of them!!! We got honorable mention for our float in the parade. Dan, Julie, Lyn and Gwen and I all celebrated and rode in the float for the 1st annual Mardi Gras, our float that year was my dad's boat 'Knot Enough' and we had tee-shirts that said 'Land Sharks', cleaver for a Real Estate company. It was a fun Sat. celebration with the whole family!!!

Valentine's Day 2009

We got to visit Julie and Jeff and Hunter this weekend!!! We had so much fun with them. They all got to go fishing on Sat. and I had a my structures test for my ARE so I studied all day. I think they probably had more fun!!! I wanted to show off Julie's belly, she is getting there too!! We talked babies and baby stuff all weekend. Saturday night we had steaks, potatoes, broccoli and a wonderful desert (got the recipe from Christa). Julie and I had two helpings of desert and were ready for more in the morning. Side note: (I think pregnant girls talking about food is never a good idea because we all want what ever it is we are talking about). After dinner we played Quirkle (fun!!) ate desert and just visited. They are a beautiful family and we so enjoyed our Valentines with ones we love!!! Thanks for having us Bragg family!!! We love you!!!

Girl's Lunch

My good friend Christa and her daughter come up during the week every now and then and we get to go for a girl's lunch. This time we wen to The Lodge, it was so good and we all got so full, as you can see in our pictures. Brooke was sooo good and had fun I think.
Okay our belly's really aren't that full of food....Christa is due Feb. 28th with their second. Doesn't she look great. We have another more recent belly shot, from a week ago, so I'll post it when I get it. Christa and her family are such blessings to us. We try to spend time with them at least once a month, they live in Alamo and we can't see them more than that...that part is crazy. So please keep them in your prayers these next couple weeks. They are excited though!!!

Nursery Bedding

We have finally made a decision on bedding for the nursery. Dan and I decided on a geometric pattern that is medium pink, black, white, and light pink. I am going to accent with light pink I think. I initially wanted to do black and white and Dan said, "But she is a little girl and we need some pink, I like the pinker ones we have looked at." So dad is right I guess. We will send pictures as the nursery gets more and more ready for our little girl!!! Last night I just stood in her room for a little in amazement in so many things, this whole experience is wonderful, minus the being pregnant part. I don't love being pregnant, but I love the idea that the Lord is entrusting us to be parents to one of his children, that part is amazing.

Friends Update

We just want to let all those friends expecting or whom have recently become new mommies and daddies that we are praying for them. We pray that the Lord meets their needs, he knows right where you are all at. We just had friends this past week welcome some little ones into the world, we had three girls and a boy and a girl due soon and a girl and a boy due near the end of the month. February is a great month, lots of life happening in Feb. May the Lord bless you all and know that you are in our thoughts and prayers constantly.

4th Doctor's Appointment

Well it has been a week already since our last doctor's appointment, but I'll catch you up to speed. Everything is great! She is really starting to move around more and more, just yesterday and today I could really tell that it was her moving around and not just a gurgle. This morning right before I got out of bed she was bumming around in there. That has to be the most amazing part so far. I love feeling her move around, it makes it much more real. Her heart rate was 148 bpm and my tummy measured normal and I have gained 12 lbs so far. All my regular pants are starting to get even more uncomfortable, but I keep wearing my tummy sleeve and long shirts and we can over come something that small. Our next appointment is March 4th and we'll probably have another ultrasound to see what the doctor think, boy or girl. Dan's mom is going to try and come down to see the little one. That's all for now.
